A few days ago I was lucky enough to meet 2 amazing dogs and a breed I hadn’t met before the Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever. Apart from being a bit of a mouthful to say these dogs are gorgeous, full of personality and fun, and a total joy to photograph. Around the size of a collie with the temperament of a lab these beautiful dogs are often confused with small Golden retrievers and as the smallest member of the retriever family its easy to see why.
First up we have Loki
He’s around 2 years old and a totally shameless flirt, with such perfect posing and a very waggy tail, Loki made the process of photographing him an absolute pleasure and we got some fantastic shots of him in the garden.
Just as cute, but less inclined to pose, next up we have Cali, she’s 4 months old and into everything, her mantra is if it moves chew it, and if it doesn’t move chew it until it does. When it comes to Cali obviously at only 4 months old she’s still a puppy and doing some serious teething (hence the chewing), but she’s very happy to share her kong with everyone, Cali is one seriously cute puppy, with the best cheeky side on glance in the business she’s an absolute stunner.
After we had exhausted the garden( well I was exhausted anyway) we moved indoors for some HI-Key studio shots a few of which will be going on display soon. I had a great morning with these two, took some amazing photo’s and got to roll around on the floor and play with these two beautiful dogs.
A massive thanks must go to The Dog and Handler Training Club for putting me in touch with Loki and Cali’s mum Lynn, and to Lynn and her family for giving me the opportunity to photograph these two beauties.
